Shorts Review: NPC “The Glitch”

The season finale of NPC is here! Now, is this a good glitch, or a bad glitch?

This episode was definitely a mixed bag. While the means to get to the end was hilarious, it was the end itself that gave me trouble.

Mike is back to normal, as in not Rico’s cousin anymore, and is going over how Rico is nearly indestructible. Luckily, he came up with a plan weeks in the making. It culminates with a car chase that’d put Fast and the Furious to shame. It ends with Rico’s SUV stalling, and he gets out, just to stand there. Mike runs him down so hard, he glitches Rico into the wall. Without Rico, the game glitches out.

This episode was funny, but rather anti-climatic. The way it was set up, I thought Rico was going to get mauled by a mentally impaired Mike. Considering this guy has been tortured by Rico, the ending did not meet my expectations. But that’s about 20 seconds out of a 3:40 short. Hopefully this sets up a more extraordinary season two.
