New animated series for Pivot being produced by Bento Box/Simpsons writer
According to Deadline.com, Pivot has in development a brand-new animated series called Leader Town. Here’s what we know so far:
A 30-minute animated comedy, “Leader Town” follows an American family that tries to fit in in Barkhiva, Russia – the town where the world’s deposed ex-leaders are allowed to live out their lives in luxury using their ill-gotten gains until the money runs out. Each episode will highlight a different issue, and our characters, being who they are, will take it to the extreme. Issues: Social Commentary, Government Transparency
Producer: Electus; Animation: Bento Box; Executive Producer: Ben Silverman (EP, “The Office,” “The Tudors,” “Ugly Betty”) Writer/Executive Producer: Jeff Westbrook (EP, “The Simpsons”)
Given where we are with Russia today in terms of the political conflict going on over in the Ukraine, I can’t imagine an American family living in Russia and enjoying themselves, so it sounds like a pretty funny concept. That said, we already know that the episode will look great coming from Bento Box whom is responsible for animated stalwarts like Brickleberry and Bob’s Burgers. Jeff Westbrook writers for The Simpsons and most recently has written the episodes ”The Man Who Grew Too Much” and also wrote the most entry in the ”Treehouse of Horror” Halloween specials.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
