Shorts Review: Otaku Taco Truck #6 “The Devil’s Menudo”
Otaku Taco Truck is continuing its hot streak of just okay episodes and I’m quite happy with that. We have some funny slapstick setting kids on fire humor, Kwala had some good lines, Swiss was… Swiss and Mari was just as flat as usual. Anyway, The Devil’s Menudo has our three otakus sneaking into Mamma So’s Kitchen School and getting trapped in class by satanic Chef Ramsay. That was a pretty funny visual, I won’t lie. So Satantic Chef Ramsay orders the class to make some Menudo and through the power of montages and teamwork they succeed, which ends with the class excluding Kwala, Swiss and Mari getting murdered but they still succeed.
It’s that balance of the abnormal and structured narrative that I’m starting to warm up to. Just like in the team’s previous show Politicats, the abnormal visuals made it obviously visually interesting and the structured narrative made the humor punchy and hilarious. OTT is still far away from that, thanks to again sock puppet lip flaps and generally cheap looking animation, but from this episode they continue to shuffle towards that goal.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
