Spoilers

Steven is looking for Ranger Guy, who is a part of a huge set of Guys. Pearl comes in to be a nagger, and Steven walks off to see his dad. He tells his dad that he lost it, but Steven’s dad doesn’t remember. Steven ends up with a sack full of quarters, so he can get a bunch more. Unfortunately, all of his coins net him Dave Guy. Onion comes out of a vending machine, with a Ranger Guy. Steven wants to trade for it, so Steven follows him. He walks into a suitcase store, and walks out with a lunch. Onion walks down to the docks, and sees his dad. Steven sees his chance to trade with Onion, and takes it. Unfortunately, Onion wants something more than 30 Dave Guys. Steven goes home, and Amethyst gives him Pearl’s replicator wand. He goes back to Onion, who is running over catsup packs with a moped. He replicates Dave Guy to get the total to 35, but Onion just starts walking towards Steven with a creepy look.

Later, Steven is playing with Ranger Guy, but is soon hit with a tidal wave of Dave Guys. Pearl and Garnet go to take the replicator back, but Garnet ends up with about 15 cars to the dome. Steven makes good use of the distraction, and gets the replicator away from Onion. Garnet crushes the replicator, and everything that was replicated with it disappears. Steven ends up giving Onion the Ranger Guy, because it was more about the memories than the toy. But now he has new memories; horrible, horrible memories.

This episode feels like it was just spinning its tires in place. Right from the get go, you know right from when Steven finds Ranger Guy in Onion’s pocket, that Steven will end up giving him back to Onion in the long run. Not to mention, once I saw Ranger Guy in Onions pocket, I just thought “Yep, that’s Steven’s.” There was nothing good happening in this episode, which was a shame, because Steven Universe was going very well. I was expecting more, but was severely disappointed.
