Review: Regular Show “Guitar of Rock”

Why does Benson have a really cool guitar? And what happens after it gets broken? Find out after the jump!

Spoilers!

Benson, Mordecai, and Rigby are at the house of Maellard and Benson is afraid of the other two breaking things. Benson finds an autographed Bruce Rock guitar, and fantasizes about it. So, Benson makes an idiot move, and takes it out of the case, and breaks it on the stuffed butt of a jackass. Benson pleas for help, so, the experts of getting into and out of trouble are on the case. The first plan of going to the show fails, so they go to Muscle Man. Muscle Man gives his man Ronnie a call, and they get Bruce Rock to sign it. Unfortunately, He dies five seconds in from a five foot stage fall. While Benson is lamenting, they barter with Death to get into the Rock and Roll Underworld. Death forgets to mention that if they screw up, they have to spend all eternity in Fake Rock Star Underworld.

Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson make it in, and meet Bruce Rock. Of course no one has a pen, so, they have to try to steal the bouncer’s pen. They get caught, and when Rigby flubs his name, the bouncer forces them to play a set. Of course they fail miserably, so they run for it. The bouncer turns into a dragon, but get knocks out by a guitar. Rigby steals the pen, and runs with Bruce. As they run out,  Bruce signs a new guitar, and they make it out on Death’s motorcycle. They get back in time to put it back in the case. Maellard walks in, then smashes the guitar, just because he wants to feel like a rock star.

What is there not to like in this episode? Death, dead rock stars, a killer venue, and of course, Death’s killer bike just make this a metal head’s paradise! When I die, I would love to be in Rock Star Underworld. On the plus side, Benson isn’t the uptight prick he normally is, and actually needs Mordecai and Rigby. I was kind of hoping to see DJ Donnie G from K.I.L.I.T., but apparently he lives with a hole the size of a record in his chest. Thankfully, this upward trend in episode quality continues. Now it’s time to incorporate more characters into this trend.
