Review: Fish Hooks ”Freshwater Lives”
Spoilers Below
Milo wants to make money so he can keep buying sequels of his favorite mobile game. As a result, Baldwin shows a documentary in class that tells the kids all about a time capsule hidden somewhere in the school. Milo finds it and decides to open it up only to find a 100 year old fish stick. Milo decides to microwave it which causes the fish stick to come to life! Turns out it’s Ezekiel Freshwater and he wanted to freeze himself so that he can wake up in the future and see what it looks like! Milo volunteers to be Freshwater’s tour guide and the first place they go to is the mall! It’s here that Freshwater gets his first scope at mobile phones and trains and he isn’t all that impressed with the findings and more so that all of the present-day fish have forgotten him. Milo joins him in a cry-fest, but Freshwater comes up with an idea to make money. Turns out this idea is to destroy everything in sight like the school, the retirement home, everything all in the name of bringing back trains. Freshwater and Milo get arrested and thrown in the slammer, but when they get out they develop a Train App game.
The most shocking part of this week’s episode of Fish Hooks, was seeing the promo at the end from Disney Channel announcing that April 4th was going to be the series finale of Disney’s best animated series. That means the Friday Night lineup from 2013 featuring Wander Over Yonder, Phineas and Ferb, and Fish Hooks has officially been blown up and starting March 31st (when Wander returns to Disney XD) we get to see some new directions for the networks.
Putting that on the back burner for a moment, it’s ironic that this week’s episode was called ”Freshwater Lives” because next week will be the last-time we see ”Fresh Water” anything. In any case, Futurama did this plot way better and for seven seasons even when you factor in how goofy Milo is when he’s constantly fudging things up. I’ll miss that…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
