Reddit AMA Recap: Seth MacFarlane

Reddit does this cool thing now where if there is a big star getting ready to do a AMA, they seldom advertise it. They just kinda drop it on you and BOOM 4000 questions. Such was the case when the great Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad) dropped by to do an AMA, however the main topic of convo was more Cosmos related. That said, Seth DID answer some Family Guy questions and we’ve got the recap down below:

But could people PLEASE STOP thinking that people who make The Simpsons and people that make Family Guy are feuding? As a matter of fact:

Nope. Matt G. and I are friends, and we have a number of writers who have worked on the Simpsons writing for Family Guy and Dads. It’s all very incestuous over there at Fox.

They are doing a Family Guy/Simpsons cross-over for Christ’s sake!! That said, don’t expect a Family Guy/Cosmos cross-over anytime soon:

The Family Guy episodes “Road to the Multiverse” or “The Big Bang Theory” are your best bets. Neil deGrasse Tyson actually has a consulting credit on the latter, I believe.

How bout really great advice on perfecting your voice acting techniques!

Many of the greats like Mel Blanc and Daws Butler used to occasionally start with an impression, and build outward from there. Barney Rubble is influenced by Ed Norton from the Honeymooners of course, just as Stewie emerged from Rex Harrison.
