Comics Review: Regular Show #11
With a possessed Rigby on the loose, what does the rest of the gang do?
Mordecai, Benson, and Skips are trying to figure out what to do with Rigby, while Pops is playing with Tama-Muscle Man. Skips gives the group the backstory on the pog case, saying it wasn’t able to live out the decade as a fad. It disappeared before it could actually be something. So, the Spirit of the 90’s inhabited the canister. Benson, Mordecai and Skips decide to go downstairs into the basement, where every lost piece of 90’s fad is stuck. This only empowers the spirit, who keeps reciting bad lines from terrible 90’s movies. Mordecai, Benson, and Skips have to play a game to see if they can save Rigby and leave, or they all stay in the basement forever.
“How to Make a Zine in 8 Easy Steps with Eileen”
I don’t get it. This is an eight step program on how to scrapbook. Eileen goes through the steps on how to make a Zine, including page payout, content, and distribution. Again, I don’t get it. It kind of reminds me of yesterday’s Jerry Springer episode. It had some crazy woman with a scrapbook.
This is actually becoming a long arc for this comic, and I actually enjoy this. I was a POG collector when I was a kid, and I thought I was awesome. I actually still have them, but I only actually played the game maybe three times. This is a 90’s kid’s dream come true, because the references to all of the 90’s stuff is extensive. I think I saw a Super Famicom (Japanese Super Nintendo) controller in there somewhere. This issue was a good segue to what is going to be a culmination in one or two issues. However, I did not enjoy Eileen’s how to comic at the end. I think those 6 pages could have been spent on expanding Rigby’s trip through the 90’s. Overall, however, it is worth the purchase to read. It’s not like it has a Time Lord, I mean Cop.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
