Shorts Review: Losing It with John Stamos featuring Dave Coulier
Spoilers Below
Dave Coulier had the best story yet, hands down. No, it’s not the story of how he inspired the Alanis Morissette song “You Oughta Know.” However, this subject did come up before the actual losing it story. But unfortunately Coulier didn’t give any real insight regarding whether or not he’s actually the reason.
His story began with some background, with Coulier explaining that he had a girlfriend all throughout high school, but was never allowed to cross home plate with her, and they broke up after graduation. When he found out his entire hockey team slept with some chick (no, not at the same time) Coulier decided that he would pay a visit to this girl as well, because he’d apparently never heard of STDs.
This wasn’t the last of Dave’s poor decisions though, as he then proceeded to get white boy wasted, black out, and woke up on a dock outside of the girl’s house – with wet pants. Wet with what? And how? To this day he still doesn’t know, because he never saw the girl again.
So maybe he didn’t even lose it (which Stamos actually called him out for.) But who cares? This was a damn funny story. All the previous stories have been entertaining but forgettable, the kind of tale that one wouldn’t bring up in conversation unless provoked. In contrast, Dave’s story is one that I (if I were him) would voluntarily tell, since it’s just that entertaining.
I should also mention that all my positive feelings toward this episode are in spite of the fact that I’m not really a fan of Dave Coulier. Nothing against the man, I just never found him especially funny. I know: he was on Full House with Stamos, and that’s all well and good, but his humor just doesn’t click with me. It always seemed (and seems) a bit corny. A bit too silly. And this is regardless of whether the humor is kid-friendly or for mature audiences only.
Still, I found his little yarn amusing, and the delivery, chemistry, and cartoon added to it nicely, making it a pretty good episode in the end.
Except they kept using the word “wiener.” Like seven times. Seven wieners in six minutes. That puts Lindsay Lohan to shame.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
