Rick and Morty gets Season 2; PR touts Ratings that beat Comedy Central, FX, and more

Rick and Morty has officially been picked up for a second season by Adult Swim (but we kinda knew already) with the network touting ratings success over networks like Nick at Nite, FX Networks, Comedy Central, and MTV during the 10 o’clock hour.

However, let’s get the facts straight…Nick and Comedy Central usually do a bunch of reruns on Monday Nights at 10 and even MTV’s Teen Wolf is probably a piece of shit that no one watches anyway. But, the REAL win is again, over FX Networks. FX airs new episodes of Archer and Chozen on Monday Nights, and Adult Swim continues to dominate against the other animated fair with Rick and Morty. We actually wrote about this a bunch of times, the first week we were asking what were YOU the fan of animated television going to watch and then just a few weeks ago we responded to the Vulture report that actually showed us numbers. It’s safe to say, your voices are being heard! To top it all off, we awarded Rick and Morty with being the best animated series of 2013 and this year the series shows no signs of slowing down.

For those that haven’t seen Rick and Morty: After missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez (Justin Roiland) suddenly arrives at his daughter Beth’s (Sarah Chalke) doorstep looking to move in with her and her family. Beth welcomes him with open arms, but her unremarkable husband Jerry (Chris Parnell) isn’t too thrilled about the tearful reunion as Rick’s arrival serves to shake things up quite a bit around the household. Rick converts the garage into his personal laboratory and gets to work on all sorts of dangerous sci-fi gadgets and contraptions. That wouldn’t be so bad if not for the fact that Rick continues to involve his grandchildren Morty (Roiland) and Summer (Spencer Grammer) in his insane adventures.

Rick and Morty returns with new episodes on Adult Swim, March the 10th @ 10:30 pm EST, check your local listings and get two first-look screens here.
