Ah yes, the future of Beavis and Butt-Head is still up in the air and enters another year on everyone’s mind and it looks like 2014 is no different. Mike Judge is getting ready to launch a new series on HBO called Silicon Valley, but he was asked by Crave Online about the whereabouts of Beavis and Butt-Head and whether we were going to see any more new episodes:
“That kind of caught up in some kind of changeover of the top brass of MTV,” explained Judge. “I’m kind of trying to sell it to another network, and I haven’t [yet]. “I’m just happy doing this one right now.”
“You never know,” he said. “I mean, that’s one of those things that could come back.I still like ‘em.”
The author of the
Crave piece was unable to find any information on the MTV/
Beavis and Butt-Head deal. From what I hear, the networks that Judge and Co. are trying to sell to are more of the online variety like Netflix and Hulu. Last year, we reported on Comedy Central showing reruns of
Beavis and Butt-Head alongside
South Park during various marathons which could lead to possible conclusions, but nothing really since.
John is the Chief Editor and Founder of Bubbleblabber.com. While at first a part-time project, Bubbleblabber quickly grew into a full-fledged operation and officially became a company in 2014. When John isn't running a business full-time, he likes to go to concerts with your mother.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
