GAMES REVIEW: Steven Universe: Goat Guardian
It’s been a while since I did a puzzle platformer, so to quench that thirst for jumping and puzzle solving action I played Steven Unverse’s newest game Goat Guardian. The contextual story is simple enough, Steven has lost his goat Steven Jr. on Crumpling Mountain Temple and now must traverse 28 levels to save him. The basic controls are A & D or the arrow keys to move left and right, and space or Up on the arrow keys to jump. The goal of each level is to collect the golden apple on each stage to wake up Steven Jr. in the quickest method possible, while also keeping in mind the floor disappears once you touch it. There’s also the traditional collect three things in each level for completionists out there and this time it’s each of the gems for the Crystal Gems, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.
Now with all of this together we have ourselves a pretty average puzzle game. Nothing too spectacular but nothing worth noting for being awful either. It’s just a somewhat fun puzzle game. Playing these sorts of games really tick me off as I’m left with really nothing to comment on in terms of how I can recommended it to you. If what I wrote in the first paragraph sounds interesting, you will find the game fun, but if you don’t you will find it just mediocre. Although I did find there is a bug where you can land in between the platforms, making neither one fall but it doesn’t really help you in any way and is clearly just a coding oversight by the developers. Again if what I wrote in the first paragraph sounds fun enough then check it out, if it doesn’t then there is no harm in just skipping this one.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
