Review: Johnny Test ‘Road Trip Johnny’

Yep! New show review!!

Spoilers Below

The entire family is trying to figure out where to go to vacation, but it looks like Hugh wins with wanting to go to the geysers. He packs up the RV and the entire family (with no TV, video games, or anything else fun) and takes off.

Meanwhile, Mittens, Freezer, and Dark Vegan want to take down Johnny Test once and for all so they go to Johnny’s house only to find out that nobody’s home. The trio decide to go under disguise as a biker gang so that they can blend in and make their strike against Test.  The gang catch up to the RV driven by Hugh so Johnny and the twins have to fight back to make sure their dad’s vacation doesn’t get ruined. Johnny convinces his dad to stop at the World’s Largest Toaster where he burns the ‘biker gang’ and sends them packing in a ball of yarn. After sending them down a waterfall, the biker gang again catches up with Test and the crew and he freezes them all at their final destination. The biker gang throw Test and the rest down a geyser hole leading them to a trap. Thankfully, someone parks their RV on top of the geyser, but after it moves the heroes are sprouted upwards and surf their way to victory over the villains and saving their dad’s vacation.

Johnny vs the Dukenator

Johnny finds $5 in the couch and Duke convinces Johnny to send him to a spa just for dogs. Unfortunately, the spa is only for purebreds, but this kid named Monty and his cyber dog are acting like  assholes and they kick Johnny and Duke out. Duke turns to the twins to help turn him into a purebred and they do just that. Duke and Johnny get into the spa and Duke is IN heaven. Problem is, Monty and his cyber dog show up again and turn off Duke’s purebred. Thankfully, Johnny gets a remote with a bunch of apps that can make Duke go nuts. Unfortunately, Monty grabs it and turns Duke into the Dukenator! Unfortunately, Johnny can’t get back in the spa close enough to save his pal  and Monty turns the spa into a resort just for him and Dukenator, even going so far as to kick out the cyber dog! Johnny comes up with a plan and is able to get Dukey back and reopens the club to EVERYONE!

Yep, this is our first review for Johnny Test, and I gotta say I’m happy that we FINALLY get to review a show starring James Arnold Taylor. He’s really one of the cream of the crops in terms of voice acting and he shows that off quite a bit this episode playing the roles of not only Johnny but of most of the bad guys in the first plot. I also remember this show looking better back when it was cel-animated, but the Flash animated doesn’t look too bad, either. Both episodes were really funny, but I had a little trouble following the second one in terms of plot due to the fact that it was all about a kid wanting to take over a dog spa for himself…huh?

In any case, Johnny passes OUR test.
