Review: Dreamworks Dragons “Frozen”
What happens when the paralyzed plot hits Berk?
Spoilers Below
So, Berk is hit with what hit the Northeast United States, and is stuck in a blizzard. Hiccup is trying to teach some new tactics, but Hookfang shoots the drawing. Stoic shows up, and gives Hiccup a task; to get Trader Johann from his frozen-in ship. Stoic retrieves him, and returns to Berk. The place is deserted, and Hiccup is worried. He ends up into a hut, and Fishlegs falls on him.
Fishlegs tells him what happened; that Speed Stingers attacked the village. Almost everyone was hit, but luckily, the people not paralyzed made their way to the cove. Hiccup makes his way there, and meets up with the rest of the riders. They decide to split up, and find the Speed Stingers lair. Snotlout got help from Gustav, then everyone is on their way. While on the search, Gustav got Hookfang to knock off Snotlout. They get back, and everyone checked their destinations, except for Snotlout.
They make it to the lair, and manage to get the alpha snared. He wakes up, which gets the rest of the stingers awaken. They go to help, but are blocked by a wall of fire from Gustav, Snotlout, and Hookfang. Unfortunately, they learn, and jump over the small wall. Hiccup and Astrid direct the alpha into the cage, and fly off, getting the horde to follow. Stormfury ends up getting hit, and drops the cage, same with Toothless. The horde slinks towards them, when Gustav cuts the bridge with fire. They end up going back to their island, and everyone wins.
So, how can I be less happy about a show that is, pretty damn good? I can’t. Especially when this episode has my favorite character, and he has the episode almost to himself? Johann was funny, mainly because he doesn’t stop with his voyaging stories. I’m glad that the other riders took a back seat, mainly because Hiccup got an episode to himself. And seeing as he’s the main character of the story, that isn’t so bad.
What stuck out for me, was the animation for the Speed Stingers. If you look at them, they move the same as the velociraptors from Jurassic Park. The entire time, I was waiting for the head to flare out, and some paralyzing acid to get spit out. A great story, and great animation for the dragons make this a fantastic episode. So much for being too happy, right?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
