Review: The Annoying Orange “Shakesparagus Speare”
Spoilers Below
Nerville, Orange, and friends travel back in time to Elizabethean era England where everyone talks like an asshole. Orange actually agrees to seem with my notion, but nonetheless here we are. It isn’t long before we meet an Asparagus named Shakesparagus who is complaining about the fact that he can’t find his muse. That all changes when Shakes meets Passion which all of the sudden aspires the playwright to put pen to paper and write his best stuff. For some reason he drives off in a sports car (smh).
On the night of Shakesparagus’ performance, he tells of his most fabled work, Romeo & Juliet which is now credited to Passion’s inspiration. Orange isn’t all that impressed so he decides to write his own play, but it’s a bit more difficult than he first imagined but he eventually comes up with something…Zombie Romeo and Juliet. That said, the performance plays more like Star Wars than anything zombie-related and is actually a bunch of fun. Unfortunately, the critics and audience hate this shit and they pelt the stage with rotten tomatoes. Shakesparagus gets nabbed, but we actually run into a Francis Bacon whom accuses Shakesparagus of stealing his works which in this era means jail time (Shia LeBouf would have long been killed off if this were the case today!).
Nerville sucks, but David Cross saves a LOT this episode. That said, Orange’s premise for a play was rather entertaining and to be honest definitely lent itself a chuckle. David really didn’t sound like HIM in this role as compared to last week’s Rick and Morty, but it’ll have to do.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
