New ‘Roger Ebert’ animated series on the way…will probably not be called ‘The Critic’
Roger Ebert passed away about nine months ago, but that isn’t stopping his wife from raking in the post-mortem profits. Similar to the way people have done with Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, and others, Roger Ebert’s legend will look to live on in infamy as his widow is preparing a new animated series inspired by the popular critic.
No, it won’t be called The Critic, but according to the Chicago Tribune talks are already rather advanced:
“And we’re working on an Ebert animated series,” she (Chaz Ebert) says. “We are actually in active talks with someone about this now, and they asked that we not really say any more about it. Just an Ebert animated series.”
Would Roger be a character in this?
“Yes.”
I couldn’t even begin to imagine what an animated series inspired by Roger Ebert would even look like, and I’m not sure if this is the best way to go to remember the legendary critic’s contributions to entertainment. Then again, I have purchased a SHIT LOAD of Dimebag Darrell stuff since the legendary Pantera guitarist had passed away, so who knows.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
