Shorts Review: Losing It With John Stamos featuring Eliza Coupe
Spoilers Below
I must say, Eliza Coupe was a charming guest to watch on Losing It. Eliza (who you may know from Happy Endings and Scrubs, or brief appearances on Community and Flight of the Conchords) has a simple enough story: she decided at age 17 to make it her mission to lose it to one of her brother’s friends, whom she had a crush on. Being that she’s a girl, this wasn’t exactly Mission Impossible, or even Mission Only-Slightly-Possible, like it would be for most guys (unless their name is Achille$. I heard that guy hosts orgies in his sex den on a bi-weekly basis. And by that, I mean bi’s are there weekly.)
Not only that, but Eliza’s parents actually encouraged her prior to her first time. Apparently when she was even younger, she told her mom she wanted to save herself until marriage. Her mother responded by laughing.
Anyway, so the story after that wasn’t too flashy, nothing too crazy, but she told it quite well, and that made up for a lot. For instance, apparently the size of her partner was one of the biggest problems (pun intended) and her and Stamos ended up going on an extended metaphor about trying to get into a door.
With sexy results…
It was an enjoyable episode. I laughed enough, despite there not being any real standout moments. Maybe it was because there was yet another puppet sequence. What is that, three weeks in a row now? And by the way, how do the creators decide who is played by a puppet and who is played by a real person. Sometimes I think it might be awkward to be the only flesh-and-blooder in a scene, and have to talk and laugh along with a couple socks with faces on them. But then again, I’m a word and paper man, not a talking pictures man. So what do I know?
Maybe I really just enjoyed this episode because I kind of have a thing for chicks that are slightly tomboy-ish, but still ladylike in the important, publicly-acceptable ways.
I guess what I’m trying to say is: Eliza Coupe, I choo-choo-choose you.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
