Review: Bob’s Burgers ‘Bob and Deliver’

Spoilers Below

Does anyone else crave burgers after watching Bob’s Burgers? No? Just me?

In this week’s episode, Bob took a job as a substitute high school home economics teacher. Although the students were initially apprehensive toward him and the subject matter, he eventually won them over, even to the point that they rallied around Bob after he was unjustly fired.

Meanwhile, Linda taught Teddy to dance in anticipation of his cousin’s upcoming wedding.

Overall this episode was pretty funny, but a couple things really stood out to me:

First, as always, I loved Tina’s role, and her lines. Since Bob became her new teacher, she attempted to become the Teacher’s Pet, given that she already had a head start since Bob likes her. (Although Louise said “like” is a strong word.)

I also really enjoyed the scenes with Mr. Plant, the CafeCo guy, especially the scene in the car talking about business cards.

However, the two funniest lines came from characters other than Tina and Mr. Plant, and they actually both involved Linda.

First, it was hilarious when Linda called Mr. Holland’s Opus, Mr. Holland’s Old Penis.” Also, I cracked up when Linda asked if the cousin of Teddy getting married was the one he got to second base with. “No, that was my second cousin,” Teddy said. “And it was third base.”

This episode reminded me a lot of the Simpsons episode that aired before it. Neither had overly hilarious story  lines, but there were enough jokes sprinkled throughout to make it successful. In fact, I’d say these two were just as funny as each other.
