Comics Review: Teen Titans Go! #1

Well, it looks like the show. Is it going to be as painful to read as the show is to watch?

Well, it looks like this comic has the same ADD riddled attention span like the TV show. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean it’s any more enjoyable. At least the stories in the show last a full eleven minutes. When I can sum up every story in four sentences, there is something wrong. This can’t even make eight pages before the ADD kicks in. Anyway, let’s get into what’s helping the pandemic of ADD in America.

“Food Fright”

Cyborg is going in for a snack, and comes to find that his sandwich is stolen for the third time. He installs a security system to catch the thief, and open Raven’s pizza. It’s possessed by a demon, thanks to Trigon, so the logical way to kill it is with a slice of angel’s food cake.

“Par for the Course”

So, what happens when two men make a bet? They run a muck, causing a seemingly casual game of mini-golf to turn into a high-powered duel. The bet was Robin’s cape for Beast Boy’s room, then it got upgraded to Robin’s cape and utility belt for Beast Boy’s room and he’s banned from electronics for a month. The story ends with Starfire blowing the Riddler’s mini-golf trap to high hell.

Before reading this, I didn’t know what could be worse; the show, or the comic. After reading this, this complements the show very well. They’re both crapping on the legacy of DC comics worse than Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The premise of these stories are ridiculous. Come on, a possessed pizza and a mini-golf trap from the Riddler? I have so much wrong with this, I don’t even know where to go. Both of these stories are rushed, and are funny for the wrong reasons. I say that, because above all else, Riddler is too busy trying to get at Batman to be mixing it up with the Titans.
