Bubble UK Shorts: Meat Mysteries by Ross Plaskow

We’ve been sent the new toon from Dinosaurs in Space creator Ross Plaskow, there’s no Dinosaurs in this and no Space so what are we being asked to take to our hearts this time? Some meat. Um..yay..?

On my own website I look at, shall we say, slightly more arty, usually student made, animations and one I passed on this week was a stop motion short that involved a man made out of meat, I, a veggie couldn’t stomach it so I was a bit perturbed when I saw that Dinosaurs in Space animator, Ross Plaskow’s, new short was called Meat Mysteries. I figured it would be a similar deal but I shouldn’t have worried, this is Ross we’re talking about, this is no stop motion arty man dressed in a meat suit, this is some steaks solving the mystery of the stolen glasses. Very silly and very funny, a definite Ross Plaskow production.

Ross had promised us that this was going to be a lot less crude than Dinosaurs in Space and he’s right…….not as much swearing but just as much fun. I am completely enamoured with everything Ross does, his work appears to be inherintly simple but its poppy style belies the amount of work that goes into each short, just look at the various facial expressions of the meat and you’ll see what I mean, simple but clever and so, so easy on the eyes!
