Review: Phineas and Ferb ‘Terrifying Tri-State Trilogy of Terror’

Within the first of the trilogy, Candace perform an incantation that brings her stuffed Ducky Momo to life. Channeling a “Scream” movie parody, Ducky Momo spends the episode sliver chasing Candace around the house. Fortunately for Candace, the poor Duck just wanted a hug. Her stuff bear however begged to differ… 

With their second installment, Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Perry the Platypus makes an appearance. Dr. D playing the scary “mad scientist” – isn’t he already mad enough? – And he is granted three wishes. After an immediate ice-tea wish, Dr. D gets tricked into wishing complete control over cheese and crackers. After Perry dips, ducks, dodges, and nibbles on the attacking cheeses, Doofenshmirtz finally makes his final wish… to be the head of the tri-state. Dr. D then poofs into a giant floating head with no hands to scratch his nose! 

In the final installment of the trilogy, all the kids are telling stories while camping out in a backyard tent. Their terror story begins while reading a strange book in which they find out that if you pour grape juice on a platypus, it causes evil clones to hatch… Cue GREMLINS! To save the day, Phineas, Ferb, and company head to Rusty Britches, a knowledgeable cowboy who’s as poetic and musical as Brokeback Mountain. No fret children, the kids devised a plan with bubble scrubbers since the evil platypuses were merely made of grape juice stains and evil magic.

With three original and uniquely sampled horror stories, Phineas & Ferb’s Tri-State Trilogy is definitely one to remember. From Ducky Momo to a singing cowboy on a unicorn, the episode is sure to give you an outside the box look on how classic horror films would look if run by children.
