Review: Legends of Korra ‘Peacekeepers’
Spoilers Below
In Republic City, rifts between Southern and Northern Water Tribe people rise as a Southern Water Tribe cultural center is bombed by terrorists. In a surprising twist, Mako takes the case as he tries to track down the bad guys while Varrick produces anti-Northern propaganda movies starring Bolin and Korra whom is convinced that the Northern force is behind the whole deal.
Korra fails to convince President Raiko to start a war with the North. This causes a big argument between Mako and Korra and as a result they stop being friends after Mako feels bound to tell Raiko of Korra’s plan to actually bribe General Iroh to start the war. Korra heads to the Fire Nation to seek the Fire Lord’s support and is followed by Eska and her brother Desna, only to watch her get swallowed by an angry dark spirit.
This is our first time really checking this series out, and to be quite frank I think it’s rather entertaining. Mako is hysterical and drops the line of the night with “Being famous is like getting hit by a rock all the time,” which makes perfect sense and I’m wondering if this is applicable to say Justin Bieber and if that’s the case I would love to see a whole bunch of rocks thrown at him. I also liked the art direction of the series and the cast is rather stellar. I mean John Michael Higgins, Lisa Edelstein, and Aubrey Plaza? You have a who’s who over here of talented people and they deliver. With interesting plots that bob and weave, this seems like a good one.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
