Review: Brickleberry ‘Little Boy Malloy’
Spoilers Below
Steve meets this chick that looks JUST like him..but with smaller tits. Shit, this chick Stephanie even talks just like Steve and yea it’s kinda gross.
Ethel seems to have a problem with finding the right dude and online dating isn’t helping. Ethel’s latest date even brings her to a soup kitchen before blowing it. When Ethel gets back, she gets a call from her sister Emily and guess what? Sis is coming to town with her family! Worse yet, Ethel lies about having a family, too so now she’s gotta put on a charade to get out of her big jam.
For years Ethel has lived in the shadows of Emily, so she decides to get someone to pose as her husband and kid. After a kidnapping goes awry, Ethel shaves Malloy to make him look like her son while Connie poses as Connor aka Ethel’s husband. Afterward, Malloy even gets dropped off at school and right off the bat he’s subject to a bunch of bullying, but it doesn’t seem to bother him.
Steve is trying to impress Stephanie so he decides to go to the school she teaches to try and impress her. Problem is Steve is a retard, so he spends the entire time trying to re-learn English so that he doesn’t look entirely lost. As luck would have it Malloy is in Stephanie’s class so when Steve shows up he gets CRUSHED. In any case, the charade continues and after an anniversary gift from Connor to Ethel it looks as tho Ethel is off the hook, but Connor convinces Emily to stay a night so that she can check out Malloy’s play at school. However, Ethel and Connor get into an argument later that evening and it leads to Connor asking for a divorce pretty much RIGHT in front of Ethel.
On the day of the play, Malloy puts on a show, but when the bully attacks Malloy turns into a bear and goes NUTS. When Connie tries to break it up, Steve and Stephanie are fucking, and Connor’s titties get revealed! But, Malloy has his evil ways…
Overall the main premise has been done on countless shows before whether it’s in-laws or something like that, but Malloy is the wild-card that Brickleberry gets to show off and tonight he delivered! Mike Rowe is starting to become one of my favorite writers in animation having done stuff for all of the greats like Family Guy, Futurama, and Bob’s Burgers and already this season episodes like Crippleberry, Trailer Park, and now Little Boy Malloy are all hallmark episodes for a young franchise like Brickleberry. No matter where Malloy was tonight, he was like the Queen in a chess match in that he was the center of attention and with Tosh voicing, usually smacked home runs with his one-liners. Steve’s plot, also somewhat generic, but because Brickleberry doesn’t care how gross it gets they really do make the idea their own. Another point to note is that Natasha Leggero as Ethel is starting to make me forget all about Kaitlin Olson’s rendition of the character and as such could be the most important switch of a character since Mila Kunis took over the reins of ‘Meg’ from Lacey Chabert on Family Guy. It won’t be long before this series is no longer a ‘little boy’.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
