First-hand notes from JFL42 featuring the cast of Family Guy…Seth MacFarlane has a new album in the works!

Audience members at the Toronto Sony Centre’s live script reading of Family Guy Sept. 28 were enlightened to learn that Seth MacFarlane, the king of controversial cartoons, is planning on releasing a Christmas album sometime in the near future.

When asked by an audience member during the Q&A session if the animator-turned-big-band-singer was planning a sophomoric follow-up to his debut Music Is Better than Words, MacFarlane revealed that he will be releasing a Yuletide record.

MacFarlane seemed reluctant to disclose this information, speaking in a brittle tone, compared to his usual low orotund, which may have implied sincerity in contrast to the answers provided to other questions raised – shrouded in sarcasm and sometimes feigned.

But the big question is, will MacFarlane be performing renditions of further iconic Christmas songs or more obscure gems for the festival fanatics? Just like the Music Is Better Than Words’ lack of Ol’ Blue Eyes and Dino covers for the layman.

Either way, MacFarlane has already proved he has the chords to carry an album (as if the musical numbers from Family Guy, American Dad! and the Cleveland Show haven’t proved this already).
