DVD Review: Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel
Spoilers Below
Right now you can go on Amazon and purchase every one of the episodes featured on this home release for about $1.99 and in a lot of cases they give you two episodes on one purchase so in a lot of ways you are just paying a dollar each. This includes the Mission Marvel special that aired this Summer on Disney Channel. Yep, right now. GO! $1.99 and it’s all yours.
So why pay $20 for the physical copy? There really isn’t a good reason. You get a comic book, and you know what? You can get plenty of comics at your local store for $3-$4 each and they read better. You get posters! Well, yea but you could always just print them right now on special paper and make your own pin-ups. Not to mention that the Phineas and Ferb Magazine special they did for the Marvel cross-over which had better posters anyway.
I don’t understand why we can’t get deleted scenes, or making of featurettes to make me REALLY want to buy this. I got it for free, and I still think I got ripped off! This my dear readers is called a ‘cash cow’ and it’s Disney’s attempt at cashing in on a very good special which is the only thing of redeeming value on here, but as mentioned you can save $18 buy purchasing it on Amazon. This is also maybe the fastest home release I’ve ever seen. I mean, this thing aired in August and in less than three months it’s already out? Maybe if Disney took its time with the package and put on some cool special features, I could see myself recommending this. Otherwise, this release is a lost cause.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
