Comics Review: Regular Show #4
Well, we got a surprise this week when Regular Show came out, after getting pushed to Christmas. Is this issue worth the confusion?
Spoilers!
Mordecai and Rigby are balancing the rake when Muscle Man stops by. After failing worse than Rigby at it, Muscle Man cracks a joke about Mordecai’s hair. Pops overhears and offers to cut it for Mordecai. As Rigby is fixing the rake, Chips tells him that Pops gave him the worse haircuts of his life. They get upstairs just in time to see the powdered wig look on Mordecai. Rigby brings Mordecai to a salon which is run by someone very devilish looking. Mordecai sits down, and a Demonic Barber Machine is about to get at Mordecai’s head.
“Sugartown”
Mordecai and Rigby are sitting on the couch when Rigby needs to get out and do something. Mordecai gets him to get dressed in epic armor. They’re on their way to Medieval Days when they see Don and Eileen together. Rigby gets livid, all the while not admitting he likes her. They stow it with balloons that Eileen and Don bought, cause Don to lose control of his car, and Mordecai and Rigby crash into what turns out to be Rigby’s birthday party.
After 2 issues of utter garbage, we finally get something worth reading! The main story was pretty funny, culminating in a “sell your soul for something,” story. I can dig this. I know there will be a twist. As for Sugartown, I enjoyed this because it’s normally Mordecai who’s going crazy because of Margaret. It shows very the very different ways they deal with crushing on a female. Check this out, because the next one is a continuation.
However, something has to be said about Kaboom! Studios. They were recently at New York Comic Con, and they were very unspecific when it comes to why they suck at releasing their comics on time. Whenever people in the real world miss deadlines, they’re fired. That even goes for us. The fact that they couldn’t give us an answer besides “Well, we want to take our time to make sure our product is perfect.” Well, that’s all well and good, but why is it that you people are only batting .500? You really need to get your shit together, especially if you want to keep your fan base.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
