REVIEW: SQUIDBILLIES ‘A JAILHOUSE DIVIDED’

Spoilers Below

Something about the way The Sheriff and Deputy Denny are drawn in Squidbillies just makes me happy. The “we purposefully don’t care that this is obviously considered traditionally ‘sloppy’ drawing” attitude pleases me, I’m just that kind of dude. Not to be outdone, the voice acting behind this duo is impressive as well – comprising a one-two-punch which makes up two of my favorite Squidbillies characters. If you are anything like me (handsome and witty and fuck you), then you are going to love this episode bro.

Let’s. Do. This. (voice of Daym Drops)

In this episode of Squidbillies, our favorite Sheriff is running for re-election (I didn’t know that sheriffs were elected – but I guess most of my sheriff knowledge is from wild west movies. Wicky wild, wicky wicky wild wild west). To his surprise and dismay and “I can’t believe you bro”-ness, his opposition turns out to be his Deputy Denny who is riding on a campaign for “change”.  After a series of Squidbilly-assisted stunts and ploys, Denny ends up winning the new role of Sheriff anyway – only to make minimal comical changes to current policy.

I had a great time watching this episode and Bobby Ellerbee (voice of The Sheriff) really shines here.  This episode is more on the silly side (rather than satire) of the Squid-i-verse, and I found it a refreshing change of pace.

Give me more Sherrif, always.
