Review: Bounty Hunters ‘Demolition Larry’
Spoilers Below
The guys LOVE football, and who can blame? Favorite team?? Cowboys…can’t blame them there either. Larry’s wife and father-in-law Larry comes over and of course Jeff has something to say about the horse in which they came in on (actually its an Asian sedan). Bill’s got a piece of a car too, but he loves it more than life itself. Lisa calls with a bounty and the guys head into the office. The next guy on the list is a booster named Willie ‘Speed’ Darza so to help find out where he is Jeff and the guys head to Jesco’s house to get some tips on where the culprit could be. Jesco just got a new car, but it’s a piece of shit but there is a clue…where it was bought. They go over to the auto body, but when Jeff and Bill hit a dead in, Larry takes up the shop on their help wanted ad so that he can get a closer look. Eventually Larry gets into his boss’ office and receives a phone call from Speed aka the bounty!
Larry confronts Gus, aka his boss, about the phone call which causes the shop employees to almost beat the hell out of the Blue Collar Comic. However, in the heat of the moment, Larry is able to show off his driving skills. The shop employees are so blown away they ask him to join their destruction derby race team.
Meanwhile, Jeff and Bill get to a retirement home looking to get a hold on Speed. The duo eventually confront Larry about him joining the upcoming destruction derby, but when Gus and the gang confront him with his car of choice he notices that the car belongs to Stacy and Robert!
Despite his initial misgivings on which car it is, Larry finds out the car is undoubtedly Robert’s in which he doesn’t want to bash up. Instead he gets in Bill’s piece of shit and wins the whole derby…in who did he beat? Speed Garza! Speed takes off in Robert’s car and a chase ensues which ends up with the Hunters capturing Speed back at the track. The prize? A new car!!
Robert loves the new car, but Bill thinks there is still a chance for his.
After a several week hiatus, Bounty Hunters returns. I don’t know why CMT hates this show so much because there really is a bunch of promise here. The Southern humor is a perfect fit for CMT’s brand to expand a bit and the cast is a lot of fun. You also get a dash of Archer thrown in there with the mysteries and car chases. The jokes (that are few and far between) are easy to digest, and the crass humor should appease any fan of animated comedies…which evidently doesn’t include the network.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
