Review: The Awesomes ‘The Super-Hero Awards, Part 2’
All the world’s superheroes are rendered powerless except the Awesomes. Can Prock stop Malocchio before it’s too late?
Spoilers Below
The evil Dr. Malocchio looks to be wrapping things up with the whole ‘taking over the world’ bit and the Awesomes are knocking on death’s door. They are the whole super hero team left with powers, and Earth’s only hope.
The Awesome teams get into where Malocchio is holed up with Muscle Man by using a disguise. They get to a Shipping and Receiving area where Malocchio gets his items shipped. Hotwire is trying her best to infiltrate her father’s dwellings, but she gets caught and thrown in with the other heroes. She decides to call the Awesomes on Perfect Man’s phone, but Prock wants nothing to do with her. The Awesomes show up on Malocchio’s White House lawn, and it looks as though a battle is going down.
Eventually, the Awesomes surrender with the exception of Prock whom is ordered to fight Muscle Man! The Awesomes get sent to the same cell as Hotwire all the while Muscle Man beats the shit out of Prock. Thankfully, Prock and Muscle Man become friends again and Muscle leads the charge AGAINST Malocchio while Prock breaks into the White House.
Hotwire leads the Awesomes to go and find the spectrum ray of which is protected by a force field. The heroes and villains are fighting outside, but when Prock shows up he is able to get Hotwire next to the ray but she can’t break it. Malocchio ends up controlling everyone with his powers, but after a while Hotwire breaks the ray and everyone else gets their powers back. Problem is the ray is set to blow in 1 minute and Prock has to get the heroes back to normal. With Frantic’s help the team quickly escapes, but Malocchio keeps Hotwire hostage. The White House blows up, but Perfect Man is able to put it back together in NO time. But, is Hotwire really dead? Might want to ask Larry!
Good finale…not GREAT finale. With this being the last episode of The Awesomes and it being a show about superheroes that yea the heroes were going to win. However, it’s all of the little things that make the series special that I think make this show worth a watch. Like the subtle twists involving Hotwire, Perfect Man (what a scumbag, right?), and most importantly Muscle Man were so much fun and even better the series leaves you with a lot of questions and with a lot of questions it mean…I want more. With that a season 2 would be pretty rad, there are a lot of characters to play with and the producers have no qualms about adding more and integrating them into the plots with a purpose (see: Teleportation Larry). Not a good show…a GREAT show.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
