Review: The Awesomes ‘Paternity’

Malocchio seems to be reveling in all of the bad press the Awesomes are getting, but the real story is that the super team has a mole and that is a FACT! However, Muscle Man is going a little over board when catching criminals and Prock is kind of annoyed by it. Worse yet, Muscle gets hauled into court for a paternity suit.

Turns out Muscle Man will fuck anything from outer space that he can find on ‘Greg’s List’ and now it looks like it might have cost him.In this case Muscle Man is locked up for knocking up a Galoobian, but he has the right to defend himself by picking his representation due and proper. His picks are Impresario and Frantic instead of Prock whom is rather disappointed. Unfortunately, the Awesomes also have a city to defend so they send Tim and Gadget Girl to stop a bank robbery while Prock and the rest of the gang stay behind to try and get their space bound crew back.

Hotwire and Prock ready a transporter while Muscle Man acts as a special guest for the Galoobian’s court case…actually its a TV show called Who’s The Daddy similar to a Maury where contestants find out if they are parents. With Tim and Gadget terrorizing  retirement homes its show time on Who’s The Daddy but Hotwire and Prock have to deal with the aforementioned members of The Awesomes making a mess downtown before they can help out.

Gadget and Tim end up finding their culprit…The Bird Master. Yea, and this Bird Master proves to be a worthy foe so much so that Hotwire and Prock have to save the collective ass of their team members. With Frantic and Impresario still trying to save Muscle Man, Hotwire and Prock show up to start up a big battle with The Bird Master.

Muscle Man finds out that he is NOT the father, so everyone that had to show up on behalf of the Awesomes at this show gets to go home. Back on Earth, Gadget Gal and Tim use team work to take down The Bird Master which is good because Prock and Hotwire were almost done for.

Interesting delivery on splitting everyone up on the Awesomes and it was a little difficult to follow, but this episode was all Taran Killan as ‘Frantic’. From yelling and screaming in the audience at a talk show which eventually turns into a brawl to talking up his love of boobies near the end, this was a great way to showcase ‘Frantic’s talents. The Gadget/Tim fight wasn’t anything to really write home about and if Prock and Hotwire were NOWHERE used in this episode it probably wouldn’t have affected the plot one way or another because they seemed kind thrown in to the somewhat messy plot. Malocchio is the best part of the series and he was seldom used, but the variety in the different aliens coupled with a rather humorous twist on the Maury show was a nice change of pace from the majority of the season thus far even if the latter joke is somewhat passe at this juncture. Ditto for the Tim joke and the app for finding bad guys…’There’s an App’ for that has been done more than Courtney Love.
