REVIEW: AQUA TV SHOW SHOW ‘FREDA’

Spoiler Below Mo’fuckas

Besides my usual hangover depression self-loathing sprees, I love myself pretty hard – flaws and all. That being said, would this make someone exactly like me a perfect dating match … for myself? My initial reaction is of intrigue, and then of acceptance – that would be a terrible idea. It just sounds like a bad idea. Anything meant to be ‘perfect’ always backfires, just always. In this episode of Aqua TV Show Show (ATSS) we find Master Shake in this exact same dilemma… sort of.

Let us talk ’bout some plot. I’m in the mood. This one was refreshingly unique.

This time ’round Frylock creates a ‘perfect match’ cyborg woman (without Shake’s knowledge) for Shake in order to keep him occupied and out of the house. Unfortunately for Shake, she quickly grows tired of him (going against her programming and becoming self-aware), and ends up lusting after a super-eager Carl. It was thoroughly amusing hearing the cyborg mention the phrase “slob your knob” as I haven’t heard it since Junior High. Knob slobbin’, its just good stuff – look it up.

The majority of this episode involves Shake desperately trying to get back his cyber-gf while being wonderfully depressed (via crying while eating ice cream). There are, of course, a lot of great jokes in this episode to bask in, especially revolving around sex and Carl’s usual desperation for it. In conclusion, kudos to the writing team on creating a plot that was neither formulaic nor predictable here – this is what I love to see from ATSS (but is not always the case).

Fuck ducks.
