Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 3: Lions vs Redskins
Last week was the first time this season in which Carl and I split on our picks to win in the NYG vs Denver game and like always I won. I honestly think I can dig up my dead grandmother, give her the ball, and she would run for more yards than anyone on the Giants can and I think that’s a problem that will continue this whole season.
This week Carl is taking Detroit to beat the Redskins and I have to agree. I remember telling Cybertron this time last year that RGIII was overrated and I stand by that statement even still. As a matter of fact I thought Alfred Morris was a bigger reason than Robert in helping the Skins get on a run like they did towards the end of the season. I also have no faith in Mike Shanahan and I wouldn’t ask him to coach a little league team. The fact that he put Robert in last season with pretty much no knee is hysterical, and the results are being felt this season because since then RGIII has been more like ‘Don’t Hit Me, Please!’. Let’s take a closer look at the match up at hand.
Detroit Lions
At the time of this writing I am not sure if Reggie Bush is being cleared to play today, and that helps, but I think Calvin Johnson is going to be too much for that Skins D-back field with or without Meriweather. The team is just too decimated by injuries last year which sort of off sets the stellar Line-backing corp featuring stalwarts like Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan both of whom could present some problems for Matthew Stafford. Stafford, when under pressure, is typically awful. He doesn’t have that ‘sixth sense’ that elite QBs like Manning and Brady has so at best he’s a game-manager but he can get the job done. If he can’t pick off this back field, Detroit needs to start weighing their options.
Washington Redskins
There was actually talk of Kirk Cousins starting this week over RGIII which SHOULD tell you something. That said, this team is screwed on both ends because RGIII is certainly not the same player he was last year, and even IF Brand Meriweather starts today, you are talking about a defense that has given up more points and yards than everyone in the league. Al Morris is an outstanding running back, but with that Detroit D-Line holding up so far so good featuring the likes of Suh, Fairly (listed as questionable, but I think he plays), and others I don’t know if Al is going to be able to hit that second level.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
