Shorts Review: Red vs Blue Season 11 Episode 10
Spoilers Below
Red vs. Blue is on FIRE! Okay, maybe not, but it makes sense if you read last week’s review.
Nevertheless, this season of RvB is finally going places, and by that, I mean going absolutely nowhere. Let me explain:
Episode 10 begins with Sarge’s “attack” on the blues. Because the two teams now know each other on a personal, first name basis, there wasn’t any real violence or malicious intent. Instead, after the Red’s grand entrance, the team’s just talked. Simmons confirmed to Sarge that he was not, in fact, kidnapped, and actually left because of Grif’s slovenly lifestyle and the fact that Sarge took over half the base for himself.
Wash and Tucker were in the midst of their own argument, and facetiously agreed that perhaps Caboose would make a better Captain. This became a reality when Freckles demoted Wash and promoted Caboose in light of their “unanimous decision.”
After hearing this, Simmons decided to leave the Blue team, but Freckles forbade him from going AWOL under penalty of death. Sarge chose this moment to declare a “Simmons War” and was blasted off the warthog by the militarily-superior Freckles. Just as Sarge prepped for revenge, Donut appeared. Unfortunately, in lieu of a rescue team, Donut only brought Doc and Lopez’s head, and told the pilot that dropped them off to leave. Both teams immediately went after Donut for leaving them stranded.
And just when you thought the plot couldn’t get any thicker: a mysterious soldier was revealed to be watching the teams.
Of course it’s exciting that Red vs. Blue is going somewhere. It was also exciting that the plot wasn’t going somewhere when this season started (considering the overabundance of plot in the previous couple seasons) and was simple, fun banter again; but now it’s time for some action.
And oh yeah: it’s still funny. Every character got their lines in, everyone played their role (Grif is messy, Wash is bossy, Tucker is insubordinate, etc.) and it’s working. Showing they can also still create story lines that grab your attention is just a well-welcomed bonus.
(8.5/10)

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
