Review: The Looney Tunes Show ‘Here Comes the Pig’
Spoilers Below
Porky gets a wedding invitation from an old flame named Becky Hog, and despite the fact that he really doesn’t want to go, Daffy convinces him to seek true love and crash the ceremony! Before he goes, Daffy grabs Bugs’ watch and takes off leaving the bunny home all by himself. On the way to the wedding, Porky and Daffy decide to stop at a gas station and refuel. However, Porky has to use the bathroom, but when he asks Daffy to fill up the tank he takes the $40 Porky gave him and uses it on snacks, magazine, and lottery tickets. The guys leave the gas station, but after a few miles and a big Daffy mess all over the car, the guys run out of gas because clearly Daffy forgot to fill up.
Daffy convinces Porky to go walk by himself to the gas station with the can to get gas while he stays back and watches the car.Right away Daffy tries to call Bugs to try and get him to pick him up but his cell runs out of juice. Thankfully, Porky comes back with a filled up gas can and the two are able to continue their journey, but not before a vulture takes Daffy’s watch. The guys get to the hotel where the reception is taking place and decide to get a room to freshen up. The guys don’t make it in time to break up the wedding, but its cool because Becky looks happy. That doesn’t even seem to matter because Porky meets a chick there and Daffy gets to snag the wedding gifts.
After awhile, Bugs is geting bored to the fact that no one is around to chill except Speedy whom is trying to get to work. Lola’s not around either and Taz isn’t crazy about his walk. Bugs eventually gets the message that Daffy left earlier and since it has a built-in GPS, Bugs is able to track down the vulture that took the watch. Good news is Bugs gets a text from Daffy that the two made it out OK. Bad news is the vulture takes Bugs’ phone!! With no GPS, Bugs is lost and eventually faints in the desert. Thankfully, he wakes up and runs into some local citizens whom points Bugs in the right direction. To help, Bugs catapults himself and lands right on Porky’s windshield.
We need more Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner…lets start with that one right there. The fact that these two characters are very seldom used on television is a travesty unto itself. No need to change the formula, no need to even put in any dialogue because Lord knows that would just ruin it. Just give me Wile E., Roadrunner, and a box full of ACME and I’m good to go.
Oh yea there was an episode here, ummm. Ok, Daffy pretty much outed Porky as a virgin which kinda had me irked. Now, I’m OK with the Looney Tunes characters not really having much of a sex life, but if that’s the case I’m not sure it should be brought up should it? Aside from maybe Lola taking off her top, I really don’t want to think about that type of stuff on The Looney Tunes Show. Regular Show flirts with this idea, but that show is newer to me. I’ve gone to Six Flags here in NJ and I have hugged Daffy and Bugs. Don’t really want to start wondering ‘Man, I wonder where those fingers have been?’
In any case, both plots were rather comical especially with Daffy early on with getting soda and chips all over the car and making poor Porky walk 18 miles to go get gas only to get to the hotel and then charge his credit card. Classic stuff, actually! Bugs’ story started off rather weak at first with him laying around the house bored the whole time, but as mentioned the climactic ending was well worth it. Could we see more of Petunia the Pig? I hope so as I think she would add an interesting dynamic to the team. But, really I want Wile E. and Roadrunner. To quote Nike, ‘Just Do It’.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
