Review: Crash and Bernstein ‘Crash on the Run’
Spoilers Below
Cleo is psyched, but when Wyatt finds out that Crash is being recalled he panics.
With complaints of smoking and odors, Wyatt decides to go back to Build-A-Bestie to get Crash fixed. However once Wyatt gets there, he finds out the company is just replacing faulty dolls with new ones and throwing the old ones in the shredder. The guys decide to leave the store, but not before figuring out their story for the girls back at the house. Unfortunately, a rep from the company shows up at the apartment looking to claim what is rightfully theirs and even brings the non-talking replacement. This causes Crash and Bernstein to JET!
The guys take off and head to the arcade to try and hide, but its never safe there because that’s where Aaron Landon is which is also where all acting goes to die. Later, Aaron ends up telling Mel that Crash and Bernstein are at Poulos’ cabin hiding out. Poulos shows up and looks to take Crash and Bernstein back to a worrying Mel, but the Build a Bestie dude named Mr. Green shows up and a chase ensues. Everyone is back out in front of the house where Crash dons a disguise and is able to fool Green which should buy time. Unfortunately, Crash breaks character and both he and Wyatt take off, but eventually Green captures Crash and is on his way to bringing him back to the factory!
One there, Crash and Bernstein are able to escape from the evil clutches of Green by throwing an effigy of Crash into the chipper and taking off. The duo get back home where Crash is telling the story of what went down to the girls. They take off to go eat cake and drink bad milk, but then Mr. Green shows up to have Wyatt fill out a customer service survey, Wyatt has to play off Crash’s appearance as a memorial planned for a service of which now Wyatt has to plan to make the fib go through for Green’s approval.
The service goes off without a hitch and even the girls seemed into it, but BOOM Crash shows up, but he’s gotta disguise so Green leaves and everything looks to be OK. We soon see Green enjoying a hot dog at a news stand, but out of nowhere comes Crash flying around which causes his cover to be blown which now makes him a wanted man again. Crash tells Wyatt what’s going on and Green shows up to the door looking for his target. He eventually bags himself a Crash and takes off.
Wyatt enlists his mother for help and heads to Green mother household where Crash is playing dead in lieu of changing hands for a birthday gift. Wyatt eventually shows up to the Greens house as a big teddy bear, but when he tries to spring crash he gets caught and a big fight drops between the bear and Mr. Green.
I actually love the Farley family, but sorry John…this wasn’t the role for you. Not that it was all your fault, but this thing was troubled from the start. Pretty much it seems as though the writers came up with an idea of seeing Crash run, but then we kept getting repeat after repeat after repeat of the same jokes to the point where this shit just jams up. Even the somewhat novel climax is ruined by a poorly done with the teddy bear certainly not convincing me that Wyatt is ANYWHERE inside. Less we forget that that Disney promoted the hell out of this episode, only to delay it and make me PAY for the episode on Amazon?
2 out of 10 (2 points for having a legendary last name in the credits)
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
