Spoilers Below

As we left off last week,The Awesomes get warped to an alternate dimension where they meet evil clones of themselves including Professor Astounding, Condurur, Mercenary Mom, Bad Dragon, Kid Meth, and the Info Bitch…they are the Astoundings!

Back at home, Perfect Man SWEARS to find the Awesomes and to find out whence they vanished with Malocchio seemingly more concerned with getting his message across of no more heroes/villains. On Earth 4, the Astoundings and the Awesomes are duking it out but thanks to Prock everyone gets out OK, but they are now being hunted. They eventually run into Earth 4’s version of Malocchio who looks to actually help the Awesomes.

On Earth 1, Malcchio chats it up with Joyce while Prock is beating the shit out of Malocchio on Earth 4. After figuring that he’s actually a good guy named Binocchio and he takes the guys under ground with all of the villains turned good guys. Binocchio tells the Awesomes that the portal that brought them here will be reopened in 12 hours. Its here we hear all about the evil heroes that preceded the Astoundings that both punished and enslaved Earth 4.

The Awesomes go under cover and then take the bumpy ride too get into the Astoundings’ ship. They get caught, but Prock is able to use his Professor-sounding voice to open the doors throughout the ship and smash their main console. Its here we meet we meet The Astoundings’ version of Hotwire of whom isn’t as positively charged. Prock defeats the Professor and the two Hotwires blow up the machine and the Awesomes fly over to the portal to get back to Earth before it closes. However, when the Awesomes show up back to Earth, they are told by Joyce they are NO MORE!

Slowly but surely The Awesomes are starting to grow on me like an Awesome fungus. Travelling to Earth 4 was funny, smart, and very well executed featuring characters like the Professor Astounding whom would spout of a bunch of 90s jargon and The Petting Zoo of whom are just so damn adorable I can’t see why they don’t become some sort of plush toy line where you press the button and it yells ‘Look at us, we’re Jews!’ I think I also mentioned in a previous review that The Awesomes are starting to show shades of Fantastic Four comics in that the Awesomes all bicker, but when push comes to shove they get shit done. The Astoundings came off as more of like the Sinister Six where there really isn’t a BUNCH of teamwork, just more following orders. Lastly, the Awesomes theme song is starting to get addicting as hell, so much so that I may have to download it right this second. I’m still not crazy about the direction of Malocchio despite my love for the character, and I felt the Seth Meyers’ voiced characters got TOO much screen time and as such would have liked to see the other Astoundings with some more input, but who knows…maybe the Astoundings can visit Earth, yea?
