FOX promises to put MORE MONEY into original TV shows…CARTOON PITCHERS, ARE YOU LISTENING??
Want to get your content on TV? FOX may be the best place to do it!
On an earnings conference call today, 20th Century FOX press vows to lessen the number of reruns seen on FOX and invest $150 million MORE into brand-new content. That may be why ADHD got the extension the other day, but really this is great news. This basically means that FOX is going to be TV pitch central so, if you have an animated series you are trying to get notice for FOX may be the best place to do it.
What this could also mean is new animated shows that may get a short run of 13 episodes from lets say May thru September when Animation Domination is typically on hiatus with reruns. Wouldn’t be great if FOX had new animated shows on Sunday Nights?? Yes, I know ADHD is on Saturdays, but one half hour of late-night TV doesn’t make up for two and a half hours that we normally get in the Fall/Winter does it? The network could continue the success they are seeing with a series like Axe Cop where instead of just picking up a bunch of shows that feature a comedic family akin to The Simpsons or Family Guy, they could instead look at other genres like horror, action, and even sci-fi (Futurama, anyone?).
So yea, got an animated series that you are looking to pitch? Well, get working on it now and start shopping for agents, because FOX may be opening its doors WIDE open. Lord knows, we don’t have nearly enough.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
