SDCC 2013 Cartoon Notes Day 1: South Park and Murder Police
South Park and Murder Police have big announcements ahead of their fall premiers.
MURDER POLICE
Set to premier Mid-Season on FOX is a brand-new series called Murder Police being produced by Bento Box Animation(Bob’s Burgers, Brickleberry) and developed by David A. Goodman (Family Guy) and Jason Ruiz the latter of which voices lead character’Manuel Sanchez’. Manuel is said to be a straight-up serious cop whom is looking to be the best, but with a sketchy Tommy Margaretti (Will Sasso)as his partner. Already packed with a stellar cast featuring the likes of Jane Lynch (Justice), Chi McBride (Randall Hickox), and others, the Murder Police panel revealed that we can expect at LEAST two guest stars. Those guest stars include Bon Jovi and more impressively the great Fred Willard (Anchorman). No word yet as to who specifically they will play, but Murder Police will premier rather soon on FOX, and we will be sure to have more details before then.
South Park: Stick of Truth
Obviously not much was said about the upcoming season mainly because they haven’t written it yet, but Matt Stone and Trey Parker at San Diego Comic Con sent waves. The two were there promoting their new PS3/XBOX 360 game South Park: Stick of Truth, but they did announce one thing about the new season…BILL HADER IS NOW A FULL-TIME WRITER. Now whether this means Bill will be writing full episodes or if his role will be similar to what we saw in the 6 Days to Air doc a couple years back. In either case, Bill Hader is one of the funniest dudes alive and was actually on Howard Stern a few weeks back and yes he was still funny as hell despite leaving SNL. In reference to the game, the guys promise that characters from all walks of life in the South Park world will make an appearance in the game, but other than that a majority of the fan questions seemed to revolve around ‘Are we going to see this character, come back?’ variety. In any case, the game sounds bad ass, and I’m sure we will get more as we get closer to the release. The South Park Facebook page actually has a pretty cool app featuring the trailer and you can see that here.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
