Review: Bounty Hunters ‘Way of the Fist’
Spoilers Below
Lisa’s got a new bounty and Jeff and Bill are on the scene scoping it out…at the local bar. They eventually get shit-faced drunk but lo-and behold they find their latest bounty, Max.
Larry’s chillin with his wife Amber and hes gotta go meet her parents. Right away he’s not exactly accepted because his feet smell and Chinese food upsets his stomach. This makes dinner convo not all that great, but matters get worse when Larry smashes a cement block that was rather important evidently. That said, Amber loves Larry no matter what, even with his hands broken. Larry eventually leaves whence he gets called by a drunken Bill and Jeff both of whom need help in apprehending their suspect.
Larry starts to figure that he is getting too old for his own good, but Amber’s dad Robert shows up so that he can help train Larry on Tai Chi to better help his hand-to-hand combat experience. We start seeing her dad put Larry through all these torture deals in an attempt to toughen him up. However, Larry decides to leave early and rejoin his bounty partners.
The guys eventually meet Max’s grandma of whom agrees to turn over her grandson, but not without a fight! Afterwards they run into Brody of whom steals Larry’s radio and runs off. As a result, Jeff and Bill decide to send Larry home to heal his injured hands.
Larry decides to go back to Robert’s house to continue his training in Tai Chi to which the old man obliges. He puts Larry in this dream like trance and finishes the last test. But, Bill and Jeff show up to Jeff’s house with him and all of his brothers of whom are there to FIGHT. Larry finds out and he speeds on over to find a captured Jeff and Bill getting the shit kicked out of them. Larry waltzes in, head butts everyone, and saves Bill and Jeff. Robert shows up and Larry tells him that his head butts work better than Tai Chi, to which the old man seems to be fine although he ends up CRUSHING Max.
However, maybe Rob can learn something from the Blue Collars…like HORSESHOES!
This week on Bounty Hunters we saw a bit of a switch up on the plot lines as the episode focused more on Larry which isn’t a bad thing because it was rather funny. He really is this show’s Homer/Peter Griffin and even if the premise of the jokes aren’t original (like being a big dude), the delivery is quite a bit different just because of the whole redneck factor. As a result, Jeff and Bill take a back seat this week in being little more than princesses captured in the palace of which Larry is Mario tasked with having to save them. That said, overall the show is settling in rather nicely and there aren’t enough ‘dropped pants’ jokes in the world so all is right in the world. Hmmmm, dark horse for best new series??
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
