Shorts Review: Mickey Mouse Shorts ‘No Service’

Spoilers Below

Mickey and Donald just strollin’ the boardalk but weirdly enough when the guys try to grab some food, the manager declines citing that neither are following the rules in terms of proper attire. As a result, the guys decide to swap attire so that one can get food whilst one waits. Unfortunately, Mickey grabs the proverbial short straw and has to wait around but with the girls on the way he has to get dressed fast! Thankfully, Donald gets thrown out of the establishment while completing an order due to having a fake ID. Doing that gives Mickey back his clothes, and a rather nice picnic for him and the girls!

Having grown up near a beach all my life I can safely say some of the plot points are inaccurate, but other than that I thought the translation of Mickey for a modern audience was stellar as I didn’t think could be done. Yea, The Looney Tunes Show is great, but I’m not sure if that series keeps the soul of the original Looney Tunes where as this iteration of Mickey Mouse looks and feels like old-school Mickey for a modern age. To have a short like this for people who may not realize how Mickey was at one point for Walt Disney, is pure genius.
