@SethMacFarlane to play animated dog not named ‘Brian’ in an upcoming episode of @Futurama !
Yep, read all about it after the jump!
The thing I like most about Seth MacFarlane is that no matter what he’s doing no matter how big of an actor, director, whatever he becomes he still finds time to do cartoons. It’s great, as it’s almost like he is giving back to his roots no matter where he goes. From doing voices on The Simpsons and Robot Chicken to now getting ready to play a great role in Futurama, Seth is there when you want him.
Enter ‘Seymour’ the lovable dog from the classic Futurama episode ‘Jurassic Bark’ written by Eric Kaplan that to this day serves as a constant reminder that no matter how many hi-jinks Futurama deploys, the series itself still has a heart. Having had ample experience playing a dog, it makes total sense that Seth MacFarlane would guest-voice Seymour as David X. Cohen sheds more light on the role to Entertainment Weekly:
“This will be Seymour’s first and only spoken dialogue,” Futurama executive producer David X. Cohen tells EW. “Since Seth voices Family Guy‘s talking dog, Brian, we thought it would be funny to have him blatantly rip himself off for our benefit. As an added bonus, the only person he can sue is himself, so we’re off the hook.”
The great Sarah Silverman will also be on the episode ‘Game of Tones’ set to air August 14th on Comedy Central so it should make for a star-studded event. Futurama returns next Wednesday Night @ 10pm EST, check your local listings!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
