Review: Regular Show ‘Meteor Moves’
Spoilers Below
There’s a meteor shower on the way and Margaret and Eileen are wanting to take the boys up to a make-out mountain to check it out. Having received a kiss already from Margaret, Mordecai wants to use th night to finally return the favor. Eileen and Rigby opt to get up to higher ground for a better view which gives a perfect opportunity for Margaret and Mordecai to talk. Problem is Margaret is worryin’ about her future but after an exploding carbonated beverage, Mordecai heads to the car in embarrassment where he talks to Rigby and he shows how clearly nervous he is. With Rigby chanting friend zone all night its not helping, and even worse the meteor shower shows up! Why, you ask? Well, the shower zaps Mordecai and Margaret and we are introduced to a ‘Guardian of the Friend Zone’ a meteor that tells Mordecai that because he didn’t have the balls to kiss Margaret, he is forever trapped in the friend zone. If Mordecai doesn’t tell Margaret how he feels, the Guardian will have them trapped together. Margaret claims she’s gonna really miss Mordecai if she goes to school. Mordecai? He scores!
What I might just be realizing about the evolution of Regular Show is the following. Yea, we get a series that has wicked battles in space or crazy car chases. But, at its core the show features two young adults whom have to deal with normal every day problems that might be bigger than any brain freeze can deliver. Enter Mordecai. He is the single embodiment of what young teenage dudes go through in high school whereas it takes SO much courage to ask a girl out and to try and make the right moves without the legal use of alcohol which is what most guys use when they hit their 20’s (seriously young guys, booze gets you in!). This week’s episode brings about the certain sweetness this show exhibits from time to time and plays on an arc that is one of my favorites on the show. From the looks of it, the RS writers are definitely looking to expand on the relationship between Mordecai and Margaret and I’m loving every minute of it. One part fantasy, one part cartoon, one part the OC. No one does it better…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
