Johnny Depp wonders if he should play ‘Alf’ in new Rolling Stone Interview

Already, this interview is better than any of the ones Rolling Stone did for This is the End.

Alfintro

Johnny Depp’s goin’ around promoting his upcoming film The Lone Ranger where the crazy big actor plays the role of ‘Tonto’. The movie is coming from the same guys that brought you Pirates of the Caribbean and opens in theaters everywhere July 3rd weekend. That said, wouldn’t it be great if Johnny Depp were to play Alf in a live-action movie? I would watch that…and apparently in this interview with Rolling Stone both Johnny and the interviewer Brian Hiatt wonder:

He pauses, looks up through his blue-tinted aviator glasses and laughs, recognizing the mental cul-de-sac he just hit. “What’s it all about, Alfie?” he says. “Or, ALF! Probably best to go to ALF, actually. What’s it all about, ALF?”

That might be a good role for him, I venture. “I should play ALF,” he says, delighted. “Fucking fantastic. ALF. Yeah, it should be called ALF: The Stuff You Never Saw.”

I would watch this, and there’s been rumors of an Alf movie floating around but I’m sure Paul Fusco would have a word or two with Captain Jack Sparrow before he’d let his fabled creature into the arms of another man.
