Wow, Talking Orange is a LOT like ‘The Annoying Orange’

At first I was a little skeptical, but jeez these two look pretty spot on.

So, the Associated Press put out a press release talking about how The Annoying Orange creators are getting hauled into court due to the fact that DaneBo and Co pretty much ripped off a line of North Dakota PSAs featuring the ‘Talking Orange’ . I’ll be honest, at first I was like ‘SOMEONE is trying to cash in’ but the more I read through I couldn’t help but be convinced. Turns out the DaneBo guys are actually from North Dakota according to the article that is on Yahoo: “Boedigheimer and Grove are both North Dakota natives and attended college at Minnesota State University-Moorhead before relocating to California, the lawsuit said. Both still have family members in North Dakota and western Minnesota.”

Now, if these guys were raised in like NJ or something like that, I could see there being SOME sort of coincidence due to the fact that these were local commercials that aired half-way across the country and I don’t know anyone that can see that far. But, H2m, aka the marketing company behind the lawsuit, released those ads in pretty much the EXACT same neighborhoods that DaneBo grew up in. After having seen two videos, one can’t help but draw comparisons,  as the PSA ads clearly show a live-action/animated talking orange akin to the one DaneBo has made a killing on the last few years. Granted the PSA ones didn’t have eyes, the general idea and presentation is still there.

Now, what’s going to happen? Well, DaneBo probably has a pretty impressive legal team now so chances are this thing is gonna take a while to even be seen in court, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a settlement came out of this.  Your thoughts??
