South Park Shots: Stick of Truth with a potential release date? Departs Netflix

After the jump, we have some potentially upsetting news but only after we smash you with some potentially happy news!

Good News:

South Park: Stick of Truth MIGHT have a release date now that the dust has settled on original publisher THQ filing for bankruptcy, and according to an online UK retailer they have a date set for August 9th 2013. Normally, when a game is released here in the US its on a Tuesday so that would mean that August 6th is a strong drop date for the game but don’t be surprised if it gets delayed again. That said, I think that date probably works great with new publisher Ubisoft as several months later a new Assassin’s Creed releases so they probably want to space the two release dates so that they could have back to back quarters with strong Triple-A titles.  In any case check out a trailer here.

Bad News:

I am getting scattered reports that South Park has been dropped from Netflix’s instant queue which of course sucks ass. As a matter of fact if you mosey on over to the Netflix South Park page there are quite a few angry commentators so its probably more than scattered at this juncture. After doing a bit of research, we found that a whole shit load of titles will be dropped tomorrow so get ready to see a flood of even more pissed off people.
