Shorts Review: “Fingered” Ep 1!!!

Not too many times do I get to review shows or shorts that involve puppetry. It’s not that I don’t enjoy this art form. Far from it, although I am a firm believer that Jeff Dunham is a middle-aged Dane Cook who’s waaaaaay too eager to fist a doll. I guess what really makes me squeamish about getting behind puppet based shows is the fact that for every one good show (Sifl and Olly) there’s a bad one (Mr. Rogers). It’s too much of a crap shoot. And Fingered falls right on the push line in this game.

If the name doesn’t give it away, the show is basically finger puppets in college. Not too much to read into there. The puppets are really basic, but when it comes to collegiate finger puppets there’s no such thing as flashy. I actually had a bit of a laugh when i blatantly saw strings of hot glue holding the eyes on the puppets in close ups. The voice acting is pretty nice, fitting the characters extremely well. The characters and settings are jubilant and bright, which helps keep the viewers attention as well.

I enjoyed the show, but it left a bit to be desired so I can only score it down the middle for now. Keep up the great effort, we’ll be watching!
