Review: Crash and Bernstein ‘Comic Book Crash’
Spoilers Below
Who would’ve thunk that Wyatt is a pretty talented comic book artist? When Crash gets wind of it he finds out that Wyatt has made superhero alter egos of Bernstein, his sisters, and even Pesto, so obviously HE wants in on the action. The comic book gets published and its called Shredder and Mr. Purple. Crash is looking to cash in, but Wyatt didn’t want it getting out despite the fact that it becomes a big hit with everyone not named Amanda Bernstein of whom is a villain along with Cleo the latter of whom doesn’t seem to mind. The news stand guy convinces the budding comic book writers to make a movie and even gives them a little cash to get started because lets face it…movies are expensive!
Despite maybe not liking their characters, Amanda and Cleo sign on as do Pesto, Crash, and Bernstein with Poulos as the director. Problem is everyone is in for their own accord with Cleo trying to get a product line going and Amanda looking to get famous. Fame might not be far off as Crash and Bernstein get on the school talk show with Scottie as the host. Its here that its brought to Crash’s attention that HE is the sidekick, NOT the hero and he flips out on closed-circuit TV. This causes Crash to rewrite the script and he turns it into a confused director while waling off making phone calls. Wyatt didn’t think there was wrong with the script, and has no interest in being written in as the sidekick. Because of this, a dispute arises and Crash and Bernstein decide to o their separate ways.
Next day while filming the movie, Crash takes over as director and everything goes to hell, but when the famed dog stealer tries to claim his next victim, the heroes show up and wrangle the turd all the while saving the pooch. The exciting adventure garners the heroes local coverage on TV of which Crash…um Crashes!
After a few weeks off, Crash and Co pitch a pretty good game on DisneyXD. I definitely think that the plots are becoming more diverse and the comedy is getting more refined as time goes on as all the characters settle into their respective roles. For example, Amanda’s snarky attitude mixed with her willingness for fame worked well during the filming scenes. Splinter aka Danny Woodburn is also more than willing to look sillier and sillier every episode for the sole purpose of laughs, which I think is a great lesson for up and coming actors. I do think the whole ‘Wyatt does something that makes Crash jealous’device is starting to be used a tad too often, but you really do forget about it when Crash is riding around on a dog whilst chasing after a runaway bad guy. And to be honest, I gotta hand it to Aaron Landon as the Possum. I think he’s starting to maybe gain a little confidence in his newer role as a sort of wuss versus just being a ‘Situation’wannabe of which had way less credibility. Crash and Bernstein starts production on a second season, too, and these guys have a groove.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
