Review: Archer ‘Sea Tunt: Part II ‘
Spoilers Below
Archer hatches a plan to break into Sealab without pissing off about 40 hostiles and Captain Murphy. Disguised as a camera crew, Archer, Ray, Lana, and Cyril take a submersible to the underwater lair of the crazy scientist all the while Archer is getting drunk and Lana is getting seasick. Oh yea, and Ray breaks his nose….Eventually Isis makes it to the Lab and the video shoot seems to go find, but then the Captain snabs and puts a blade to Lana’s throat. This causes Sterling to break out his gun, but after setting it off the pressure from the pierced, submerged waters gushes in and begins flooding the $200m Sealab. Murphy actually comes around and helps everyone through to some storage lockers with scuba gear, but he gets himself killed and leaves only three scuba suits behinds. After finding out that Lana is preggo, Archer opts to volunteer to not wear scuba gear which causes him to lose consciousness long enough for the Lana and the others to escape the sinking sub and make it to the Sea Tunt.
First, we learn that Pam has a sister….somewhere. Next, we learn that Cecil lost all of his inheritance and thats why he was trying to take Cheryl’s. Malory gets drunk as hell demanding a bunch of money from Tiffy, and although she doesn’t care about her son and the others whilst on their mission, everyone gets back safely and Malory is psyched that Lana is going to be the mother!! But, who is the dad??
What a way to end the season! The Sea Tunt plot was kind of lame, but overall this week’s episode offered up a thrilling conclusion to an otherwise strong season of Archer. Jon Hamm was pretty legit as the Captain, but I’m not sure if he replaces Harry Goz. Like, remember Matrix Revolutions when we had the new Oracle? I kinda had the same feeling where i was so used to the old character, it was tough to learn the new one, but somehow you get through it. I loved, loved, LOVED the idea of Lana getting preggo and now making us want Season 5 oh so much more. That said, I was rather disappointed in NO Barry Dillon of Katya towards the end of the season, but to start off with a Bob’s crossover and end it with a Sealab special that felt very modern and no short of Archer isms like his numerous BOOOPS and his many gay mustache remarks to the now wheelchair bound Ray, made this an underwater adventure all that much better.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
