Update on the Action Figure Therapy animated series, plus other tidbits
You may remember that we ran a story a while ago surmising the possibility of an ‘Action Figure’ animated series potentially being on the way to accompany the already stellar shorts the guys post up quite regularly. Well, just the other day the guys posted up a bunch of announcements and we decide to read between the lines to see what’s up. GO!
Late Friday night there was a HUGE info release over on the Action Figure Therapy Facebook page. I don’t want to mince any of their words, so here it is, word for word.
“IF YOU’RE AN AFT SUPER FAN THIS POST WILL BE INTERESTING. IF NOT, IT’LL BE LONG AND BORING. SO, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO READ OR SKIP IT AT YOUR DISCRETION.
You guys are probably like, “Where in the fuck are all the new AFT videos?”
Well, here’s where they are.
We’re working on three different groups of them at the time being.
AFT creator Dan Bialek spent two days this week at Youtube’s New Video Lab Filming studio in West Los Angeles taking a bunch of training classes on the latest filming and editing techniques and equipment. Google provided all of this training for free because AFT is such an esteemed partner with the site. Which was pretty awesome of them to do. So, even though we’re still super paranoid that they read all of our email and that they might one day will sell us all to the Chinese as slaves, it was still pretty fucking cool for Google/Youtube to do and we are very grateful.
This training and access to their new facility (include holy-fucking-sweet-ass-top-of-the-line editing computers) make it pretty much certain that we’ll be able to shoot, edit and release a feature length (60 to 80 minute) AFT movie later this year.
On Youtube and free to watch for all of our fans.
It also means that we’ll be able to do it without resorting to having to do some type of Kickstarter charity thing in order to pay for it. So, you guys can stick to giving all of your hard-earned Kickstarter donation cash to actual cool products being developed by inventors and/or worthy charitable causes.
And, YES, we will be using all of the figures we use now for the movie we plan on making. Not animation. (Because so of you folks get really bent over our animated stuff – although we really don’t know why. *smiley face* *middle finger* *smiley face*
With that being said, we’ve also been approached by a couple of companies who are interested in doing some more animated AFT videos with us online. AFT’s still not anywhere big enough to try and make into a TV show. So, we figure why bother. We’ll just keep it online where we can be as filthy and twisted (or clean and untwisted) as we want without anyone telling us what to do or write.
And, we figured our fans would appreciate this. And we do our best to keep you all happy whenever we can.
So, by summer there should be releasing a few more animated AFT episodes and probably in a couple different styles, which is pretty exciting news.
And, in the meantime, we’ll also be writing and putting out a bunch of the short 2 to 45 minute regular videos that we normally make, so we can keep you all laughing whether you’re here in the states or deployed overseas.
Long story short, we want to say thank you to Youtube and all of the companies (like Machinima) who have supported us up to now and continue to do so going into the future. And most importantly say the biggest and loudest THANK YOU of all to you guys (and girls), the AFT fans. Without whom none of these videos and all the other stuff we do could be possible.
Hope you all have a great weekend and we look forward to sharing a bunch more laughs with you heading into this summer and beyond.

So let the speculation begin! What could/should we expect out of a full length AFT flick? Is there enough laughs in the tank to keep the viewers attention? And what zany adventures would lend themselves well to this much longer format? Also, who’d love to take a peek inside of that sweet YouTube/Google studio? Things gotta look like the Death Star!
Until we see more footage from the AFT crew later in the summer, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite episodes entitled “Honey Badger Blood Orgy.” Enjoy!!
Problem solved. Problem stayin’ solved.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
