REVIEW: PHINEAS AND FERB ‘MY SWEET RIDE’

It’s time for Danville’s Doo Wop Hop and car show and everyone’s going. Doofenshmirtz is set on winning the show with his armored truck and to make sure he does he brings along his Rust-inator to turn all the other cars into red dust if they get in the way. Meanwhile, Candace’s wants to get a car of her own, but her dad hasn’t finished building it yet. This causes Phineas and Ferb to jump in and build the car all the while Larry falls asleep and begins rolling down the street on his creeper.  When the brothers finish they roll to the car show in style with a beaming Candace and her boyfriend Jeremy. Once there, Perry ends up using the Rust-in-ator on Doof’s truck which means the Ferb-Fletchers win first prize.

I thought this week was going to soar with potential, which it doesn’t, but it still offered a smooth ride. The soundtrack was probably one of the better ones in the show’s long history, and it was a nice change to see Candace act all mellow with her brothers. That said, with the Ferb-Fletcher siblings getting along that left Perry and Doof to make a rousing contribution to make the episode great, but instead, it almost comes off as pretty standard. Granted it was nice to see Vanessa, but her role was so minute we probably could’ve written her off and no one would’ve known the difference. While this episode was certainly no Cadillac, it was certainly better than a Ford Fiesta.
